What do Optimus Prime, Michael Jackson, Coco Austin, and Cyndi Lauper have in common? If you work at Entertainment Benefits Group (EBG), the answer is clear. Every day there’s serious work involved in offering our customers the best entertainment options, travel, and guides to make their trip seriously fun. And if it wasn’t for our close partnerships and the dedicated employees that take fun seriously, EBG wouldn’t be where it is today, as a major provider of entertainment and travel. Continuing with EBG’s strong ties with our customers, partners, EBG employees, and our community, I’d liked to share some first quarter highlights and a few new exciting developments, events, and collaborations we have afoot.
First and foremost, this year EBG began a new partnership with Ticketmaster and will be rolling out new event tickets throughout the country like the Harlem Globetrotters National Tour and more throughout 2013. The product team has also added all national traveling Cirque du Soleil shows like Quidam, Amaluna, and Totem. I’m proud to report we sold well over 14,000 Totem tickets during its stop in South Florida alone with the help of our group sales team and TicketsatWork.com, a private corporate benefits site that has a base of 10K+ companies and counting with a reach of 40 million+ members. EBG is always looking for ways to improve the shopping experience of our customers, and has launched a new redesign of BestofVegas.com that enhances the look and ease of navigation. All efforts are geared towards delivering the experiences you want in all the places you want to be.
And what place better than New York with NewYork.com as it continues to expand to be the one-stop shop for all things New York. Joining us on this venture are four new members of the editorial team, Laura Michonski, Danielle Contray, Erin Behan, and Mary-Louise Foss, hailing from such companies as AOL Travel, Budget Travel, Zagat and US Weekly as well as New York Magazine. We are a dedicated team working hard to make compelling and informative stories to guide your travel decisions or just to entertain. In the past month alone, our interviews, features, and news stories have been retweeted by Coco Austin, Terry Fator, Holly Madison, SeaWorld Parks, Ripley’s New York, Million Dollar Quartet, Rock of Ages, Gray Line, Times Square, and more. It’s our passion for the products we love that really speaks to our readers, and we revel in the fact that our websites spark interest in traveling and having fun.
Another passion shared at EBG is our connection to the community. One of the most rewarding ventures I’ve been a part of at EBG is the mentorship partnership with HANDY (Helping Abused Neglected Disadvantaged Youth.) It’s been over a year since the inception of the mentorship program, where EBG employees bond and share their experiences with youth and help them figure out anything from college applications and financial aid forms to how to do the laundry or anything in between. In Las Vegas, EBG employees marched for babies in April for the March of Dimes, and in Miami; EBG employees participated in the Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run benefiting United Way. In Orlando, our team continues to partner alongside our friends at Universal Studios to provide helping hands at Give Kids the World and in New York our NewYork.com crew is preparing for the AIDS Walk. It’s just our way of making a difference in the world we live in, and spread some joy.
My name is Alex Mateo, Content Manager at EBG, and I take fun seriously every day.
