Arts and Broadway and Tickets, Oh my!

October 25, 2016

From a premier arts summit to the launch presentation of a new Broadway show, our product team traveled near and far over the past month to showcase the value of being an EBG partner.

In late September, members of the New York team headed south to New Orleans to participate in Ticketmaster’s 2016 Arts Summit at the Loews Hotel. The prominent, two-and-a-half-day conference brought together more than 100 ticketing, marketing, sales, data and CRM leaders across various arts organizations to network and learn about the latest news and innovations in the arts and theater industry.

As a Ticketmaster channel partner, EBG was proud to be a major sponsor of the summit.

“Ticketmaster’s Arts Summit was a unique, productive experience for us,” said Brandon Warner, Vice President of Product at EBG. “Ticketmaster’s clients are some of the best in the business, and the conference gives us a platform to showcase the value and impact our corporate benefits platforms can have on their business.”

Our team helped kick-off the conference with a sponsored networking session that followed Ticketmaster’s keynote address. The room was filled with live jazz music, great conversation and, of course, delicious food including a French fry stand and assorted ice cream treats.

Throughout the duration of the conference, our team hosted an Innovation Round Table to inform current and prospective partners how they can reach new patrons through our corporate benefits platforms – TicketsatWork, Working Advantage and Plum Benefits.

Back in New York City, other members of the product team attended the launch presentation of a new Broadway show that will bring life to the Roald Dahl classic– Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The event took place on October 14 at Samsung 837.

As one can imagine, the venue décor was inspired by the film – decked out in sweets and immersive experiences that gave attendees the opportunity to see Manhattan through Willy Wonka’s eyes.

Christian Borle- a Tony Award-winning actor who will play Willy Wonka in the musical– performed classics from the movie like “Pure Imagination” and “Candy Man” as well as a new song written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (music/co-lyricists for the show; the dynamic duo also worked together on Hairspray.)

Award-winning director Jack O’Brien shared the journey of the show since its inception, and explained how this production will be completely different from London’s West End version.

Our team is excited to preview the show this upcoming spring at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater, and looks forward to working with our Broadway partners to share the whimsical and imaginative spirit of this classic story with all of our clients and customers.
