Gru and Jerry

Gru and Jerry the Minion take over TicketsatWork at SHRM

July 09, 2013

Mischief was afoot at the 65th Annual SHRM Conference & Exposition in Chicago as Gru and his minion, Jerry, roamed the exposition floor as they made their way to the TicketsatWork booth for fan meet-and-greets, photos, and other mayhem. Straight from Universal Orlando Resort, Gru is no stranger to Human Resources. The new ride, Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem is one huge recruitment attraction for Universal Orlando Resort guests to join the ranks of the loveable minions and work for Gru. A familiar proposition for me, as I was working for Gru at SHRM, my duties included setting up his Red Carpet area and taking the photos of him and his fans at the Meet-and-Greet.

As our special guests from Universal Orlando Resort arrived, SHRM attendees packed the halls by the TicketsatWork booth to get their one-on-one time with Gru and his banana-loving minion. Throughout the day, hundreds of photos were taken on Gru’s Red Carpet, then printed onsite for a unique Despicable Me keepsake, and they were also made available as a free download at the TicketsatWork Flickr page. Check out all the Despicable Me antics that were captured from a booth babe sneaking in a kiss on Gru’s cheek to an arm wrestling game Gru won with the use of BOTH his hands. There was a laugh at every corner and even a runaway minion at one point.

While at the booth, SHRM attendees became familiar with TicketsatWork, a simple and effective way for employers to provide their employees with access to special offers and discounts on hundreds of entertainment & travel options locally in top North American destinations – all FREE of charge. TicketsatWork is the exclusive corporate benefits program for the Universal Orlando Resort boasting exciting new attractions including Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem and Transformers: The Ride-3D.

TicketsatWork provides its clients with hundreds of offers on theme parks, shows, top attractions and hotels.  We visit SHRM each year to meet with the over 10,000 companies who already use TicketsatWork and to introduce to the program to NEW companies. We heard from Lisa Arnet, Vice President of Corporate Relations at Horizon Health Services, in Buffalo, NY, a client for two years. “From the executive staff down to the line staff, everyone has been using it and everybody loves it. It’s easy. There’re wonderful discounts and they get to enjoy their vacation that much better.”

Signing up for TicketsatWork is so easy even a Minion can do it; we have proof.

My name is Alex Mateo and I love having FUN with TicketsatWork and Despicable Me.
