EBG New York Team Runs 2017 Tunnel to Towers 5K

September 25, 2017

The Tunnel to Towers 5K is more than a run. It’s also a powerful tribute to all those who gave their lives on September 11, 2001.

On Sunday, September 24, 2017, the EBG New York team joined thousands at the 2017 Tunnel to Towers 5K. Runners and walkers filled the streets of Brooklyn and Manhattan to honor the memory of fallen New York City firefighter Stephen A. Siller, as well as the 343 FDNY firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers and thousands of civilians who lost their lives on 9/11. Tunnel to Towers 5K follows Siller’s final footsteps – the route that he ran on 9/11 after discovering the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel was closed for security purposes. Carrying 60 pounds of gear, Siller raced on foot through the tunnel to Ground Zero, where he lost his life while saving others. The event also honors those in the military and first responders, who have made, and continue to make, extraordinary sacrifices for our country.

EBG celebrates team spirit both in and out off the office – and there is no greater way to do so than by supporting a cause we hold close to our hearts. This weekend, the EBG team joined locals from across the city, and together we crossed the finish line stronger than ever – much like New York itself.
